Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Transportation Planner/ Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Pursue work as a project manager on a variety of transportation planning and/or environmental compliance projects.
  • Lead projects, project tasks and delegate assignments to team members.
  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline transportation planning and/or environmental compliance projects
  • Prepare and lead participation in public information meetings and hearings.
  • Ensure regular coordination across disciplines (e.g., engineering, transportation planning, resources, strategic communications, etc.).
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Demonstrate extensive public participation, agency coordination, planning and programming experience.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Mentor junior staff and facilitate on-the-job training

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, GIS, Geography, Biology or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant transportation and/or environmental planning experience.
  • Experience as a project manager.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of USDOT transportation planning principles and State and MPO Transportation planning requirements.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Local candidates are preferred.
