Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Leader to join our team and lead the expansion of our Geomatics team in the California market and surrounding region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying, pursuing, and securing geospatial opportunities across public, private, and federal sectors. This role demands strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the geospatial industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Analysis and Strategy:
    • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, potential clients, and competitors in California and surrounding areas.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  2. Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in public, private, and federal organizations.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their geospatial needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  3. Opportunity Identification:
    • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within California and surrounding area.
    • Evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) and lead the proposal development process.
  4. Sales and Revenue Generation:
    • Achieve and exceed sales targets by effectively selling the company's geospatial products and services.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal teams, including technical experts, project managers, and marketing, to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.
    • Provide feedback to leadership on industry trends, client needs, and competitive intelligence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in business development within the geospatial industry, with a focus on the California region.
  • Strong network and established relationships with key decision-makers in public, private, and federal organizations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex geospatial concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
