Schedule: Full Time

Compensation: Starting rate of $28/hour.

The Ground Service Mechanic is responsible for general troubleshooting and repair work on gas/diesel engines and associated systems, electrical systems, transmissions, gears, brakes, and all other systems associated with airport service equipment. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience with troubleshooting and repair on gas/diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmission/rear end, basic chassis/brakes, as well as fabrication skills (MIG and Arc welding/cutting).

As an ATS Mechanic you will:

  • Provide prompt response to equipment service requests to troubleshoot and repair vehicles & belt loaders (unleaded, diesel, and propane engines), lavatory service trucks, air conditioner carts, ground power units, and more.
  • Perform and track preventative maintenance for each piece of equipment.
  • Work with station management to help control budget and order parts and supplies.

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes an extensive 10-year employment, criminal record, and residence background check.
  • ASE Certification preferred.

As an ATS Mechanic you must be able to:

  • Lift up to 70 pounds (32 kg) in confined spaces on a regular basis.
  • Climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.
  • Work outside in all types of weather, around jet and machinery noises.
