Your impact

In your role as Technical Writer you will research, write, edit, proofread, validate and publish a variety of maintenance documentation. Working in a dynamic environment you will be responsible for delivering a variety of documents daily that is clear, and easy to understand.

What you will do

  • Leverage available data sources to ensure that your documents are clear, logical, accurate and update to date including but not limited to:
    • Redlines
    • Installation Drawings
    • Wiring Diagrams
    • Specifications
    • Interviewing subject matter experts such as Engineers, Project Engineers, and Program Managers
  • Create and/or revise documents in S1000D using a Common Source Database (CSDB)
  • Create and/or revise documents per iSPEC2200 using FrameMaker
  • Coordinate your work activity, status, and schedule with your manager
  • Deliver quality, technically accurate, complete, technical publications leveraging established processes.

Your required experience/skills

  • Bachelor's Degree (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent, relevant experience creating and modifying maintenance documentation
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Experience with Structured FrameMaker or Arbortext. Exposure to illustrating programs such as Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Proven Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, charts, wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly/test procedures.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing including via presentations. Including understanding grammatical conventions and writing in a clear and fluent manner.

Your success in this role will look like

  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to obtain necessary information to delivery required outputs

It would be nice if you had:

  • Degree in Communications, Technical Writing, English or relevant subject.
  • Experience using Windchill Content Management System or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an IFEC company or Aerospace Company.
  • Experience using a document management system such as Agile.
