Shuttle/Trolley Driver - Floater Supervisor

Pay Rate: $26.00

Hours: Full-Time 40 hours plus overtime. ( Must have open availability )

Requirements:

  • MUST have a valid Class B or Class A license
  • MUST have at least 2 years or more of CDL driving experience
  • MUST have Passenger Endorsement
  • MUST have a valid DOT medical certificate
  • Must have Open availability.

The Spirit of the Position:

The Supervisor Floater helps to oversee the operations of a location(s), under the direction of the Director of Operations to ensure 24/7 professional transportation.The Commercial Shuttle Supervisor position is responsible foreffective, efficient, and safe transportation, loading and unloading passengers to and from bus ports, and ensuring that all activities support the safety and welfare of all passengers.

Essential Functions:

  • Reliable and punctual attendance is paramount to this position.
  • Works well with others and is a strong team player.
  • Greet customers, be responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution, display a caring attitude and develop a rapport with all passengers.
  • Anticipate guest needs wherever possible and exhibit a sincere desire to meet or exceed them
  • Assist passengers with general information about the local area.
  • To work with and without supervision and follow the direction of supervisors when requests are made.
  • Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.
  • Provide daily transportation for passengers to and from destinations.
  • Perform pre- and post-inspection activities to ensure proper operating conditions, adherence to Company & DOT standards, and compliance with proper safety and maintenance standards.
  • Assist passengers when boarding and exiting the vehicle. Ensure the loading and unloading of passengers to and from destinations, to include the operation of specialized equipment for unloading passengers with special needs, (i.e. wheelchair lifts and tie-downs).
  • Prepare and submit accident/incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily/ routine cleaning and shuttle maintenance activities; maintain a neat and orderly appearance to include assigned uniforms.
  • Conduct re-fueling activities, to include maintaining assigned fuel usage logs.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Use a two-way radio to interact and communicate professionally with the dispatch office and/or supervisor.
  • Report accidents, problems, and other required shuttle information (both mechanical and cosmetic) to management in a timely manner.
  • Keep the shuttle bus secure and follow all safety procedures.
  • Maintain alertness and be observant of any activity, both authorized and unauthorized, and take appropriate actions.
  • Adhere to all safety codes and OSHA standards.
  • Respond to all guest/visitor inquiries and resolve service/ customer discrepancies accordingly in a respectable manner.
  • Perform other related/ additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Lead, direct, and develop a team of shuttle drivers in Orange County.
  • Manage, plan, schedule, train and direct the activities of on-site shuttle drivers.
  • Identifying high-potential employees to support the organization's continued growth.
  • Ensure drivers are driving the proper routes and hitting the scheduled pick-up times while keeping on schedule.
  • Responsible for payroll processing, ensuring sign off on hours in timely manner; collaborate with the local payroll department to ensure pay data is completed properly; work with Human Resources Manager to ensure proper wage and hour compliance.
  • Responsible for executing plan for the opening of newly assigned locations.
  • Responsible for financial management of assigned locations ensuring adherence to budget and revenue enhancements.
  • Oversee the transition of newly assigned locations from acceptance of contract through opening of location ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for developing client relationships and business retention.
  • Organize and narrate parking management skills for Assistant Managers and Team Leaders.
  • Understand, implement, and deliver all requirements that are outlined within the contractual agreement between LAZ Parking and our clients.
  • Assist the region with the operations preparation for potential new locations including rate surveys, ticket pulls, etc.
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual financial and operational reports as required.
  • Implement and complete other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the operation of assigned location(s).
  • Participate in labor contract management if applicable to assigned location(s).
  • Communicate effectively with all required entities regarding operation emergencies.
  • Organize and manage the oversight of event operations within LAZ Parking.
  • Assist with the monitoring, review, and analysis of the market rate structure.
  • Implementation and completion of other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from assigned location(s).
  • Additional related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to meet the following MVR guidelines.
  • Have a clean driving record (no moving violations in 3 years and no DUI's, suspended licenses, etc. in 5 years)
  • No "Major" violations within a 5 year period (DUI, speeding over 15+ mph, driving without a license, etc.)
  • No active reckless driving violations (within 5 years)
  • No active leave the scene, vehicular homicide/ assault violation
  • No more than one violation of texting or using a cell phone while driving a non-commercial motor vehicle
  • No record or refusing an alcohol test required by Law Enforcement
  • No violation of an "out of service" order
  • No violation constituting a serious traffic offense:
  • Excessive speeding (15 mph above the posted speed limit)
  • Reckless Driving
  • Improper or erratic lane change/Following too closely/Connection to Fatal Accident
  • Driving a commercial vehicle without proper/verified license or endorsement
  • Texting while driving a commercial motor vehicle and/or using a cell phone
  • Violating a railroad crossing rule while operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Maintain a professional appearance (no body piercings or visible tattoos on forearms or legs)
  • Reliable transportation to and from work

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • Must have experience working and supervising a shuttle program with Class B drivers
  • Must have experience with DOT compliance with regards to CHP inspections
  • Must have experience with the regular maintenance and 45 day inspections of the shuttle program
  • 1+ years in Management role.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Power Point and General Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experience working with financial statement/accounting, P&L reports and budgeting.
  • Schedule flexibility in order to meet operational needs. This will require occasionally working outside of regularly scheduled hours.
  • Parking management experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
  • Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
