Responsibilities

Summary:

The Project Coordinator, position supports the Startup & Execution department in gathering equipment, resources, and information to implement upcoming projects for all purchasing, vendor and record maintenance processes associated with the start-up of new locations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Project Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for all purchasing inquiries from vendors and receives initial applications from new vendors. Maintains vendor files and vendor catalogues.
  • Coordinates and schedules all freight, moving and asset transfer of goods, between vendors and receiving facilities.
  • The Project Coordinator maintains computerized records related to purchasing activities.
  • Processes daily invoices while checking for accuracy for quantities, costs, specs, and item numbers.
  • The Project Coordinator purchases supplies and schedules shipments and returns.
  • The Project Coordinator contacts vendors regarding products, specifications, and pricing. Places orders with authorized vendors. Evaluates and selects sources of supplies and services. Selects and evaluates vendors by meeting suppliers, investigating facilities, capacity, and stability to meet quality requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration preferred.
  • One to three (1-3) years of related experience in project and purchasing coordination including aspects such as sourcing, specs, bidding, vendor negotiation, ethics, policies and practices, transportation of goods, warehousing, exporting and freight, current trends, training, and programs. (A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on management's discretion.)
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills. Certain degree of creativity is expected.
  • Ability to provide continuing project assessment and coordinate rapid changes in all areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office including Excel.
