Postdoctoral Fellow (Seumois Lab)
9420 Athena Cir, La Jolla, CA 92037, USA Req #356
Thursday, May 2, 2024

Dr. Seumois Laboratory at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI), https://www.lji.org/labs/seumois/ located in La Jolla, California, is seeking passionate and driven Postdoctoral or Undergraduate Researchers to embark on an exciting journey into the depths of immune diseases. Our translational lab specializes in harnessing the power of innovative genomic analytical techniques, including scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, and scTCR-seq, utilizing multiple state-of-the-art platforms. Our primary focus lies in elucidating the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing how immune cells adapt and differentiate in response to non-infectious respiratory diseases such as asthma and airway allergies. We also work on understanding how autoimmunity develops in response to virus infections and cancer.

What sets us apart? Our commitment to never stop pushing the boundaries of knowledge through cutting-edge genomic tools, spatial transcriptomics techniques, and even functional molecular cell system development and transgenesis. Although our primary focus is human immunology, we leverage animal models when necessary to gain comprehensive insights. While maintaining our freedom of research, we also maintain strong links with biopharma to move forward the transformation of our discoveries into potential new therapies and diagnostic tools.

Join our highly collaborative team, and together, let's pave the way to contribute to groundbreaking discoveries in the field of immunology and open opportunities for novel therapeutic interventions.

Apply now to be part of our dynamic and innovative research environment at Dr. Seumois Laboratory:

  4. Schmiedel BJ et al. sc-eQTL analysis of activated T cell subsets reveal activation and cell type-dependent effects of disease-risk variants. Sci Immunol. 2022.
  5. Engel I et al. Innate-like functions of NK T cell subsets result from highly divergent gene programs. Nat Immunol. 2016.

To Apply: Please submit a CV & Cover Letter and indicate one or more potential matches to the specific projects from above. Applications without a cover letter will NOT be reviewed.
